"We are experiencing another time of closing ranks," asserted Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Party's Central Committee. He denounced that "there are many media manipulations and opportunistic distortions that our adversaries have attempted to impose throughout these years of the Revolution. Their objective has always been clear: to sow chaos, promote violence, and shatter the peace of our homeland."
Morales Ojeda emphasized on his social media profiles that "today, like so many other times, they are trying again, even taking advantage of the legitimate concerns of our people in the face of necessary measures, such as those recently announced by Etecsa."
He also warned about the risks posed by the media war against the largest of the Antilles. “In times like this,” he said, “there is no room for naiveté. The media war is not a game; it is a weapon of destabilization directed not only against our political system, but against the true needs of our people, against the bonds that unite us as a society. Fake news does not seek to inform, but to confuse; it does not seek to debate, but to divide,” he emphasized.
He also reiterated the increase in subversive campaigns and actions to destroy the Revolution, taking advantage of the complex situation facing the country.
“Cuba, once again, is challenged by an aggressive imperial policy that seeks to subdue us through lies and economic pressure. But our history has taught us that, in the face of these attacks, there is an invincible response: unity. That conscious, critical, and revolutionary unity that does not allow itself to be fooled, that defends the truth, and that trusts in its people's capacity to resist and win,” he concluded.
That same unity will prevent the incitement against young Cuban university students from taking the course of violence, contempt, and discord with the institutions to which their usual promoters aspire. Although, as usual, the enemies have taken advantage of legitimate concerns and natural dissent in a society to call for disorder and to obscure the value of spaces for dialogue, collective analysis, and listening to multiple voices, the maturity of this people and, above all, of its youth, united in representative organizations like the FEU, has known how to apply the necessary and just brake, so that unfounded chaos has no entry point.
