Havana, July 16 (RHC) - The National Ballet of Cuba, declared a Cultural Heritage of the Nation, resumed its usual work, directed by Viengsay Valdés, after a long period of recess due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The work currently focuses on the training of dancers, which includes, in addition to required ballet classes, physical preparation, a series of lectures on the history of the acclaimed group and acting classes by outstanding Cuban actress Yailín Coppola, as a guest professor.

During the months of necessary confinement in the face of the spread of COVID-19 in Cuba, the company was active on the Internet through various platforms from which it kept in touch with followers with collaborative home videos showing stretching sessions, ballet classes and the preparation of dancers from home.
