President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulates pianist Frank Fernández on his 77th birthday

Havana, March 17 (RHC)—Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel resorted to social media Tuesday to congratulate renowned pianist Frank Fernández on his 77th birthday.

Diaz-Canel posted a message on Twitter, saying Frank’s creativity is comparable only to the beautiful music he makes on his piano.

‘Congratulations to Frank, a genuine Cuban and universal man,’ wrote the Cuban head of state.

His vast work as a composer includes 29 concert albums and more than 650 works in practically all genres, as well as television and radio themes.

Throughout his long, fruitful artistic life, Frank Fernández has performed in some 40 countries, and in many he has played more than 15 times, a reflection of the universal appreciation for his virtuoso skills.

Frank Fernandez, is considered a symbol of Cuban culture, recognized all over the world as an excellent piano player of almost every classic and popular genre.

Critics have described him as "a man touched by the divine," "one of the master interpreters of the most sublime moments of music in the world" or "someone without precedent, an unforgettable pianist."
