Cuban singer-songwriter David Blanco celebrates 20 years with his band

Havana, April 28 (RHC) – Popular singer-songwriter David Blanco celebrated the 20th anniversary of his band on Tuesday with the premiere of the track title of his latest musical production ‘Feudalismo Moderno’.

In statements to Cuban News Agency, the renowned musician said the new album was almost ready when Covid-19 struck, but he took advantage of this long period of isolation at home rethink and change many things.

The tune Feudalismo Moderno deals with how cutting-edge technologies influence human life. The lyric video of the tune is now available on the YouTube channel of the artist as a gift to his followers on this 20th anniversary.

About the album, David Blanco said it’s mostly rock music, tributes to iconic bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, but with a strong contemporary Cuban flavor and sound.

David Blanco explained that amidst the Covid-19, he was determined to find the positive side of this whole situation. He then used this time to learn how to play other instruments, particularly bass and drums.

The album Feudalismo Moderno, under Bis Music label, will be released this Summer. However, the artist said that some tracks and even a music video for the title track will be released gradually prior to that.

The artist announced also that Backstage, a reality show-style program he and his band created for YouTube in times of Covid-19 will be broadcast on Cuban television, thus amplifying a project full of good music and creativity.

Other activities to celebrate the first 20 years of David Blanco and his band include a concert documentary at the iconic Morro castle in Havana. The artist said they will begin shooting soon without public due to the epidemiological situation generated by Covid-19.

The renowned musician said he is also working as a musical producer on a new album with EGREM label. It will feature some of the best Cuban DJs, playing Cuban classics, what he artist called ‘combining the old and the new schools’.
