Exhibition on former Argentinean President Néstor Kirchner inaugurated

Buenos Aires, May 24 (RHC)-- Argentinean Culture Minister Tristán Bauer participated Wednesday in the inauguration of the exhibition "Néstor Kirchner. La imaginación y el poder (Néstor Kirchner. Imagination and Power)," organized by the Télam news agency as a tribute to the former president.

According to the Secretariat of Communication and Press, the event will take place at 17:00, local time, in the cultural center that bears the name of the man who managed to reduce poverty and unemployment, ordered the reform of the Supreme Court and promoted the trials of the perpetrators of crimes against humanity during the last civil-military dictatorship in this country (1976-1983).

A lawyer by training, Kirchner served as President of Argentina from May 25, 2003 to December 10, 2007, a period during which he carried out important social transformations.

He also contributed to the strengthening of Latin American integration, rejected U.S. interference in the region and achieved the country's withdrawal from the International Monetary Fund after canceling the existing debt.

According to Télam, the exhibition offers a journey through the most emblematic moments of his administration and his life, through a selection of historical images that explore his human and political figure.

It also highlights the link between the president and the people, considered the protagonist of the process of change, recovery of rights and reparation of the wounds caused by the dictatorial regime.
