Pretoria, June 13 (RHC)-- Prominent South African poet Mongane Wally Serote expressed Monday his solidarity with Cuban intellectual Nancy Morejon, whom he called "comrade and sister", following fascist attacks against her.

In a letter, Wally Serote recalled how those who appropriated "the best fruits of the whole world" in the past, will not cease to continue with those practices, but will maintain and intensify the means of global oppression to sustain the exploitation of the peoples.

As history has clearly illustrated, he wrote, imperialism has been and continues to be sustained by the exploitation of human beings by other human beings, with practices such as genocides, massacres, and the oppression of the masses.

Consequently, as Africans, we call on our fighting ancestors to keep us strong and optimistic, and remain in the struggle against oppression and exploitation, he concluded.   (Source: Prensa Latina).
