Ferran Torres

Barcelona, Spain, January 4 (PL)-- Spanish striker Ferran Torres was presented on Monday as a new Barcelona player, one of the Catalan club's most important additions in the winter market.

"Barcelona is one of the best clubs in the world and there will be competition. I want to contribute and continue to grow," said the player at the ceremony in front of the fans who gathered at Camp Nou.

Torres is the second addition of the new coach, Xavi, after making official the contract of Brazilian fullback Dani Alves, who will have a new stage in the team.

"I come from playing as a striker but I can also play on the right wing. As long as I'm on the pitch, it doesn't matter what position I'm in," said the 21-year-old, who is also a key player in the Iberian national team.

Finally, the striker said he hopes to be under Xavi's orders very soon and thanked everyone for the welcome: "Together we will take Barcelona to where it deserves to be. I want to thank the president and the club for the confidence and also the culés for the welcome", he concluded.
