Havana, January 17 (RHC/JIT) - The vice president of the Algerian Olympic Committee, Fazil Abdelnour Ferhat, is in Cuba to complete an extensive work agenda.

He arrived on Saturday to the island and was received at the José Martí International Airport by the head of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Roberto León Richards Aguiar, and by the second head of the Algerian embassy in our country, Omar Rekia.

The main objective of the visit is to establish training bases in the sports of boxing, judo, athletics, wrestling and canoeing, as well as the recruitment and training of technicians with a view to the XIX Mediterranean Games of Oran 2022.

The Algerian side has also expressed its interest in visiting sports facilities and for the training of middle and higher level professionals.

Ferhat is also the president of the Algerian Boxing Federation.
