Havana, February 22 (RHC)-- As reinforcement of the bottom team Zonzamas Cicar Lanzarote, Cuban winger Gleinys Reyes celebrates today her place in the third position of the top scorers in the Honor Division of Spanish women's handball.

The Cuban has 80 goals in 14 games this season, only surpassed in the list of top scorers by Elena Martínez (Salud Tenerife) and Pona Vegue (KH-7 BM. Granollers), who appear in places one and two with 90 and 83 goals, respectively.

In her last appearance with Zonzamas this weekend, the Cuban improved her scoring average to 5.71 by leading with nine goals in a 27-27 draw against Balonmano Salud Tenerife.

Precisely, the Caribbean Reyes celebrated against Tenerife her second highest number of goals in a challenge in this league, one goal behind the 10 she scored last January 22 in Lanzarote's 28-24 defeat against Rocosa Gran Canaria.

The other Cuban player in the Honor Division, left-footed Lorena Tellez, has 42 goals in 11 matches for Caja Rural Aula Valladolid, good for 43rd place among the top scorers in the competition.

With no wins in 14 games, Zonzamas, where the Cuban player Reyes plays, is at the bottom of the table with two draws and 12 defeats, while her compatriot Téllez and Valladolid are in sixth place thanks to eight wins, one draw and five defeats.

Super Amara Bera Bera, with a record of 13 wins, one draw and one loss, leads the way in the Spanish tournament.
