Barcelona Football Club president Joan Laporta said today that he considers the possibility of Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona and finishing his career with the Catalan club.

Havana, July 29 (RHC)-- Barcelona Football Club president Joan Laporta said today that he considers the possibility of Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona and finishing his career with the Catalan club.

"We would like the end of Lionel Messi's career to be with the Barça jersey and applauded in every field. It is an aspiration that I have, I am co-responsible for his end and I would like it to happen," said Laporta.

The departure of the Argentine star, a seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, was one of the saddest moments for the fans in the last decade and generated unfavorable opinions towards the franchise's management. Messi's time at Barça did not end the way we all wanted it to, it was very much conditioned by economic issues and we owe him a moral debt," he said.

Barcelona is currently on a pre-season tour of the United States, where it has already defeated Inter Miami 6-2, Real Madrid 1-0 and drew 2-2 with Juventus.
