Havana, September 13 (RHC)- Spaniard Lucas Vázquez had to leave the pitch in the 71st minute in last week's La Liga match against Mallorca, played at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The Real Madrid full-back felt some discomfort in his right thigh and Ancelotti decided to replace him.

On Tuesday, Real Madrid issued a medical report on the Spaniard, confirming the injury he is suffering from. Real Madrid's medical team did not want to establish a recovery period, and his return will depend on the evolution of the ailment.

"Following tests carried out on our player Lucas Vázquez by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the gracilis muscle of the right thigh. Pending evolution," reads the club's official statement on the player.

The gracilis muscle or internal rectus extends from the lower branch of the pubis and the ischial branch to the tibia.

Lucas Vázquez, so far in La Liga 2022-23, has played four games, in three of which he has started in Ancelotti's team. He has accumulated 259 minutes and has scored one goal, the one he scored against Almería in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory.
