Agricultores and Tabacaleros took the lead in the First Cuban Baseball Elite League, after defeating Portuarios and Centrales, respectively, for the second consecutive day.

Havana, October 24 (PL) -- Agricultores and Tabacaleros took the lead in the First Cuban Baseball Elite League, after defeating Portuarios and Centrales, respectively, for the second consecutive day.

The team that brings together players from Las Tunas and Granma came from behind and scored four runs between the sixth and ninth chapters, after trailing 0-2.

Designated Osvaldo Abreu was the most outstanding player of the game, going 4-2, with two runs; while Yhosvani Peñalver stood out for the Portuarios, going 4-3 with one run scored.

The victory went to veteran left-hander Leandro Martínez.

Tabacaleros also came out on top once again with a 4×2 win over Centrales.

The game was tied 2×2 when the winners scored a run in the fifth and another in the eighth, one of them a home run by Leonardo Urgellés, who hit 4-3, with two runs in tow.

Yunieski García, who in 6.0 innings struck out six, won the game, while veteran reliever José Ángel García, the leader in national baseball series saves, earned his first save to add to the victory he achieved on Saturday, so he has participated in Tabacaleros' two victories.

On the other hand, Ganaderos and Cafetaleros were unable to play because of the rain at the Calixto García stadium in Holguín.

After these results, Agricultores and Tabacaleros lead the table with two wins in the same number of games, escorted by Ganaderos (1-0), Cafetaleros (0-1) and Portuarios and Centrales (0-2).
