The Institute of Sports Medicine of Cuba (IMD) explained in the last hours some of the actions developed for the attention of the legendary professor Ronaldo Veitía, architect of great triumphs of judo in Cuba.

Havana, November 8 (JIT) - The Institute of Sports Medicine of Cuba (IMD) explained in the last hours some of the actions developed for the attention of the legendary professor Ronaldo Veitía, architect of great triumphs of judo in Cuba.

"Last October 18, Professor Ronaldo Veitía arrived in Cuba. Since his return to the country was confirmed, the Institute of Sports Medicine designed a strategy to follow up and accompany his recovery process," refers the information shared Monday night on its social network profiles on the Internet. 

"Veitía was treated for several days at the Hermanos Ameijeiras hospital, whose medical team recommended the steps to follow from now on, starting from his release from the center," clarifies the message about the priority assigned to the case by Inder authorities and the Ministry of Health.

"A multidisciplinary group of our institution has maintained communication with the professor's relatives and with the professionals of the health care centers in his health area, offering logistical and human resources support," confirms the IMD.

"We have made several visits to his home, where home admission is complied with the appropriate conditions for this. Her reconsultation is planned. We are keeping abreast of his medical evolution and the needs of his recovery," the message concludes. 

Veitía suffered health difficulties during a recent stay in Spain, where he was hospitalized for several days. He returned to Cuba when conditions permitted.
