Havana, December 19 (RHC)-- Argentinean President Alberto Fernandez today issued a decree declaring Tuesday the 20th a national holiday to allow celebrations for the return of the national soccer team after its victory in the World Cup in Qatar.

La Scaloneta defeated France on Sunday and won the third title in its history at this level.

The team, led by captain Lionel Messi and coached by Lionel Scaloni, after an arduous journey, defended the blue and white colors of our flag, highlights the document signed by the president.

It also states that a multitude of fans and supporters cheered them on from all corners of the country, as well as from the stadiums where the matches were played.

Winning the Cup is a well-deserved reward for all the members of the national team and their coaching staff for their fighting spirit, effort, unity, perseverance, teamwork and commitment, he adds.

It also emphasizes that the players "had the necessary mettle to overcome difficulties without ever giving up, and became an unquestionable example, demonstrating that, with solid ideals and always united, it is possible to achieve the proposed objectives".

The Decree of Necessity and Urgency was issued "so that the people can celebrate in peace and unity, sharing joy".

Since this afternoon, groups of people started to arrive at Ezeiza International Airport and at the Obelisk to wait for the members of the Albiceleste who will arrive early Tuesday morning on an Aerolineas Argentinas flight.
