Havana, February 23 (RHC) --The Santiago de Cuba team remained on Wednesday as the only undefeated team in the men's Superior Basketball League (LSB), a tournament in which it won its fourth victory with a 96-85 victory over Artemisa.

In the Alejandro Urgellés multi-purpose hall, the Santiagueros caused the fourth setback in a row for the Artemiseños, in a duel that went to overtime after a tie at 82 in the regulation period.

The reigning champions of Ciego de Avila (3-1) also completed the sweep by defeating Las Tunas (0-4), which is still winless, 81-76.

In the other subseries there was a split of honors with the successes of Capitalinos (3-1) and Mayabeque (1-3), the latter team achieving its first win of the tournament.

The representatives of Havana put an end to the unbeaten Villa Clara (3-1) at the Amistad Hall in the center of the country, with a 74-60 scoreboard, to take revenge for what happened the day before when the Villaclareños were victorious 83-77 and cut short the perfect performance of the Havana team.

In the case of the Mayabequenses, debutants in the LSB, they defeated 73-66 the team from Sancti Spíritus (2-2), second place in the last edition.

In that game, the main scorers for the winners were Alfredo Curtis, with 23 points, and Andy Castellanos (17); while for the Spíritus team, Luis Ángel Castillo and Adrián Valdés, both with 17 points, stood out.
