Havana, December 27 (ACN) -- Matanzas, Artemisa, Industriales and Las Tunas teams will ask today for reinforcements for the playoffs of the II Elite Baseball League. In addition, a technical meeting will be held for the semifinal, a stage that will begin on January 4, 2024.
The meeting will be held in the meeting room of the coliseum of the Ciudad Deportiva of this capital city. The managers of the Cocodrilos Matanceros, Cazadores Artemiseños, Leones Capitalinos and Leñadores Tuneros will choose two players each to face the new stage of the competition.
According to what has been established, the Yumurino, Artemideño, Industrialista and Tunero managers will announce their first picks, in that order, while in the second and last round the order will be reversed.
The Crocodiles led the standings with 25 wins and 15 losses, escorted by the Cazadores and the Leones (21-19), and the Leñadores (20-20), respectively, leaving out the Gallos espirituanos (18-22) and the Avispas santiagueras (15-25), occupants of the fifth and sixth places.
The technical meeting should approve the announcements made so far, as well as provide details about the semifinals.
Matanzas will host Las Tunas at the Victoria de Girón stadium, while Artemisa will wait for Industriales at the 26 de Julio stadium, in both cases the venues of the first two games of the seven to win four series.
