Santiago de Chile, February 2 (JIT) - After the first process of postulation of candidate cities for the 2027 Pan American Games, opened by Panam Sports on January 5, two South American cities complied with all the requirements and made their interest official.

They are Lima, in Peru, and Asuncion, in Paraguay, which before January 31 officially delivered all the requirements requested by Panam Sports to enter the race to be host city and country.

Among these are the letters signed by the highest authority of the government, of the region and of the applicant city in each country, and a letter of intent from each national Olympic committee approving the candidacy.

We are very pleased with the application of these two great cities of our continent. Both met the requirements of this process within the stipulated timeframe.

In March, the general assembly will have the opportunity to vote for the city it considers best to host the XX Pan American Games in history, said the president of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic.

To determine the next host city, the Executive Committee of Panam Sports has organized an extraordinary general assembly to be held virtually on March 12.
