Havana, February 16 (RHC) - Cuba's Miguel Angel Lopez will be looking for another title this Friday with Sada Cruzeiro of Brazil, when he faces Ciudad Volley (Argentina) in the final of the South American Club Volleyball Championship in Blumenau (Brazil).

In four seasons with the multi world champion Sada Cruzeiro, the so-called "Flying Cuban" has won everything and has become a mainstay of the team and an idol of its fans.

In addition to the trophies won with the club, Lopez has earned several individual distinctions, including Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the Club World Cup (2021) and Brazilian Super League (2022 and 2023).

The specialised site Volleybox selected him as the best player in the world last year 2023.

Sources close to the 1.89m player born 26 years ago in Cienfuegos (south of Cuba) confirmed to Radio Habana Cuba that the point-receiver is currently in negotiations with clubs in Japan, so the current season could be his farewell season with the famous Sada Cruzeiro.

Sada Cruzeiro and Ciudad Volley come into tonight's title match with their tickets to defend the South American colours at the FIVB Club World Championship secure.
