Paris, June 1 (PL) At least 491 people were arrested last night in Paris during violent incidents related to celebrations of PSG's victory in the Champions League soccer tournament, the Paris Prefecture said today.

According to police authorities, as reported by the newspaper Le Parisien, nine officers were injured in the incidents, which included the looting of a shoe store and the burning of a vehicle in the epicenter of the celebrations, the Champs-Élysées.

Celebrations also took place in other French cities following PSG's 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in Munich, the Parisian club's first Champions League title and the second for a French team, after Olympique de Marseille's victory in 1993.

One person was stabbed to death in Dax and four were injured in Grenoble, where a vehicle rammed into four members of a family participating in the celebrations at high speed.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau took to social media to call those who take advantage of the celebrations to commit crimes and provoke law enforcement officers “barbarians.”

Meanwhile, PSG players, such as striker Ousmane Dembélé, called on fans to celebrate the historic victory calmly and without causing disturbances or damage.
