Havana, July 15 (RHC) - Cuban Saidel Horta celebrated his third victory today and will fight on Thursday for the 57-kilogram belt in the Guizhou Open Boxing Tournament in China.
The world runner-up scored a 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan's Assylzhan Serikbay after dominating rounds one and two, sticking to his plan to pace himself in his return to competitive action.
Meanwhile, Leonardo Buides made his debut with a 0-3 defeat against Uzbekistan's Arman Makhanov in a contest that involved two judges from that country, and Dayira, who had a successful debut, lost 0-5 to host Lu Zhen, who had defeated Yoana Rodríguez in the previous round.
On Wednesday, in the closing of the semifinals, Cuba will depend on Jorge Cuéllar (71 kg), Nelson Williams (92 kg), and Arianne Imbert (66 kg).
