Brazil hits 75,102 COVID-19 infections in 24 hours

Brasilia, March 5 (RHC)-- For the second consecutive day on Thursday, Brazil was the new world epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic -- the nation that registered more daily infections during 24 hours, according to the National Council of Health  Secretaries of Brazil (Conass) on its Twitter account.

With 75.102 people infected with COVID-19 in the last day, the total of accumulated positive cases of the coronavirus in Brazil rose to 10 million 793,732 cases.  The figure of 1,699 people was the number of deaths in Brazil in 24 hours for a total of 260,970 deaths.  The case fatality rate reported by Brazil's National Council of Health Secretaries is 2, 4 percent.

Different collectives called this Wednesday for a "cacerolazo" in Sao Paulo against President Jair Bolsonaro, a day in which the country registered 1,910 deaths due to Covid-19 in 24 hours. The protests were held in several regions of the country, local media reported.
