Brazilian organizations call for new marches against Bolsonaro

Brasilia, May 29 (RHC)-- More than 100 organizations and social movement are mobilizing in the main cities of Brazil against President Jair Bolsonaro.  According to the Brazil Popular and People Without Fear are protesting over teh weekend in at least 170 protests across the country.

The mobilizations have the support of workers' unions, students and various social sectors under the slogan "Out with Bolsonaro."

According to those calling for protests against the president, in addition to requesting impeachment against Bolsonaro, they will also defend emergency aid and mass vaccination against COVID-19.   The agenda includes support for the Senate commission investigating the government's actions in the face of the pandemic, condemnation of unemployment and rejection of cuts in education funds and privatizations.

From the National Union of Students (UNE) they published a document listing 10 reasons to participate.  "We will occupy the streets, with all the necessary health measures, to denounce the Bolsonaro government's attacks on public education and its policy of death," said the vice president of the UNE, Élida Elena.
