Former Trump lawyer released from prison, vows to cooperate to stop The Donald

New York, November 23 (RHC)-- Michael Cohen, an ex-personal attorney for former US President Trump has been officially released from his prison after three years behind bars.  Once a Trump fixer, the 55-year-old vowed to cooperate with the U.S. law enforcement to during a statement made outside the federal courthouse in New York, the CNN reported.

"My release today in no way negates the actions I took at the direction of and for the benefit of Donald J. Trump," Cohen said.  "But it also does not negate the behavior of the Justice Department, Bill Barr, the Southern District of New York Prosecutors, Judge William H. Pauley the third, or Donald himself, in my initial incarceration and prosecution."

Cohen was in jail for tax evasion, false statements and campaign finance violations, the last related to payments to silence women who claimed they had affairs with Trump before the 2016 presidential election.

"I will continue to provide information testimony documents and my full cooperation on all ongoing investigations to ensure that others are held responsible for their dirty deeds and that no one is ever believed to be above the law," said Cohen, who worked as a counsel to the Trump Organization for more than a decade.

Trump’s personal lawyer confirmed he paid $130,000 to an adult film actress, known as Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had a sexual relationship with the president.  Cohen has accused the former president of sexual misconduct and expressing particularly crude comments on women.  Trump reportedly told Cohen that he could “have all” of the Miss Universe contestants if he wanted to.

Weeks before the 2016 presidential election, The Washington Post released a tape in which Trump boasted about how he sexually assaulted women because he was powerful.

Cohen was among the Trump allies that turned against him by directly pointing the finger at the billionaire businessman.  Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer has alleged in a new book that the president used denigrating remarks about black leaders and voters.
