Havana, December 7 (RHC)-- The Peruvian Congress on Wednesday approved the vacancy motion against President Pedro Castillo for "moral incapacity", after he earlier declared the dissolution of Parliament, in the midst of the political crisis that the country is going through.   Reports say that President Castillo has been detained by the police.

The Vice President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, will be in charge of the Executive, once the legislative body swears her in. She will be the first woman to assume this position in 200 years of the Republic.

The national representation approved this measure with 101 votes in favor, six against and 10 abstentions, after completing the nominal vote, that is to say, each one of the parliamentarians were called to issue their decision.
