Preparations for the Ibero-American Summit in Dominican Republic move forward

Santo Domingo, March 17 (RHC)-- Preparations for the XXVIII Ibero-American Summit to be held in the Dominican Republic from the 22nd to the 25th of this month are advancing in different parts of Santo Domingo.

The Dominican capital is ready to receive the delegations of 22 countries that have confirmed their presence, and in many cases headed by the heads of state and government, can already be seen.

The Dominican Republic is working to be a worthy host of the great event, both in terms of its development and agenda as well as the logistics involved in an event of this magnitude.

In a tour carried out this Friday by Prensa Latina, it was possible to see how some of the hotels where the delegations are expected to stay are receiving exterior and esthetic touches, as well as the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo.

In the Ozama Fortress, where the conclave will be inaugurated next Friday, tents and platforms are being erected and the historic site is being refurbished.

The port of Sansouci in the capital is also getting ready, since its Convention Center will host the Ibero-American business meeting planned for Wednesday 23.

Likewise, this Friday, the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation informed that the streets of at least 10 sectors of the National District will be partially closed during the days of the Summit.

Among the affected sectors it mentioned Bella Vista, La Julia, Mata Hambre, Centro de los Héroes, Villa María, Zona Universitaria, Gazcue, Ciudad Nueva and Colonial, as well as Sans Soucí.

In this regard, the agency indicated that it plans to establish alternate routes to avoid congestion on the roads during the development of the activities of the event, and asked the population to be attentive to social networks where information will be published.

The XXVIII Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government has a broad agenda and will be held under the motto Together for a fair and sustainable Ibero-America.
