Moscow rejects UN report against Russian soldiers

Havana, June 28 (RHC) The Russian government has rejected the accusations of a United Nations report on the alleged violation of children's rights by the Russian army, the spokesman for the presidency, Dmitri Peskov, said on Wednesday.

“We strongly reject these statements. Our military risked their lives, on numerous occasions they saved children and evacuated them from shelling that, by the way, was carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against civilian infrastructure", the spokesperson said.

Peskov responded that the conclusions of the 2022 report presented today accuse the Russian military and armed groups linked to them of the death and maiming of minors due to the use of explosive weapons, as well as theft of children.

At the same time, the UN did not add the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the list of “parties that do commit serious violations against children in situations of armed conflict”. (Source: PL)
