United Nations, October 16 (RHC)-- The United Nations humanitarian office (OCHA) has warned that fuel reserves at Gaza hospitals will probably run out within the next 24 hours, while the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says Israeli raids have created an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.”

In related news, Palestinian sources affirm that Israel’s announcement of restoring southern Gaza’s water supply is a “publicity stunt” because its bombardment has significantly damaged water pipes.

Palestinian medical officials say the death toll from the ongoing Israeli military onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip has surpassed 2,200.

The Gaza Health Ministry said 2,329 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and 9,714 others injured by Israeli strikes.   This comes as more than 420,000 people are displaced within the Gaza Strip.  A total of 270,374 out of 423,378 internally displaced people are located in UN shelters and schools.
