Argentine Airliner to Begin Flights to Cuba and Other Caribbean Destinations

Buenos Aires, October 7 (RHC)-- The company Aerolíneas Argentinas will begin to operate direct flights to Cuba and other Caribbean destinations beginning in January next year, as part of a plan to expand the company's air routes.

The inaugural Buenos Aires-Havana flight is set for Sunday, January 4th and that same month, direct flights will also begin to

Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic –- all with stopovers in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital.

Argentina is the main market sending South American tourists to Cuba. In all of 2013, more than 90,000 Argentineans visited Cuba and between January and August of this year, the island welcomed more than 50,500 Argentinean tourists.

Aerolíneas Argentinas will operate two flights a week to Havana, on Sundays and Wednesdays.
