New York, May 24 (RHC)-- In New York City, a coalition of military veterans and other rights activists have begun a 40-day “Fast for Gaza.”

The hunger strikers are gathering at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations for their action.

They spoke in front of the United Nations on Thursday as they launched their fast.   A 74-year-old veteran and former national director of Veterans for Peace, Mike Ferner, spoke with reporters.  “Our demands are full humanitarian aid under the authority of the United Nations, no more weapons to Israel, to stop the genocide, stop the killing and start treating this Earth as though it were sacred.”
