Pretoria, August 18 (RHC)-- In South Africa, prosecutors have asked for Olympic and Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius to be charged with murder, just days before he is due to be released from prison less than a year after being convicted of killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius opened fire on Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door, then claimed he thought she was an intruder. He is due to be released Friday after serving 10 months of a five-year sentence for manslaughter. He’ll be kept under a form of house arrest at a three-story mansion.
