Caracas, September 8 (RHC)-- President Nicolas Maduro said that only Venezuela can establish the conditions in which a dialogue with Colombia can take place in order to resolve the ongoing conflict on the border.

In a call to his Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, the Venezuelan president said that the people and the national economy are directly suffering the consequences of the paramilitary crimes.

Maduro also said there was an urgent need for a meeting between the two heads of State and accepted the initiative for mediation by Brazil and Argentina, while expressing his appreciation for the interest shown by Uruguay and Panama.

The Venezuelan president condemned the hate campaign led by the media, declaring it is based on lies and distortions against the Bolivarian nation. And he called for a global conference on human rights and migration next week in Caracas.
