Venezuela Commemorates 133rd Anniversary of Marti’s Arrival to Caracas

Caracas, January 20 (RHC)-- Concerts, art exhibitions and audiovisual presentations are among the activities to commemorate the 133 anniversary of the arrival in Caracas of Cuban national hero Jose Marti on January 20th, 1881.

Organized by the Venezuelan Ministry for Culture and Casa de las Americas José Martí, among other institutions, the tribute is also dedicated to the 161 anniversary of his birthday, on January 28th.

A cultural event at the Bolivar and Martí Memorial in the Venezuelan capital will open the tribute which will last until January 30.

Other activities include a political-cultural ceremony at the Bolívar Square, in Caracas' historic center, with performances by troubadours and the Francisco de Miranda college's choir.
