South Africa celebrates Cuba’s National Rebellion Day

Havana, July 31 (RHC)--  South Africa celebrated with numerous activities Cuba’s National Rebellion Day -July 26-, organizing this month demonstrations in support of the Caribbean island amid the tightening of the U.S. blockade .

The events wound up with a meeting outside Pretoria, the capital, organized by the association of South African graduates in Cuba.

The Minister Counsellor of the Cuban Embassy, Rebeca Hernandez, and Jenny Schreiner, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of South Africa, spoke at this celebration of the 66th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Barracks.

During ]the rally, Schreiner,referred to the South Africa's long friendship and cooperation with the Island and its claims in favor of the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States has maintained for almost 60 years and that recently worsened when President Donald Trump decided to fully implement the Helms Burton ACT.

Meanwhile, a series of demonstrations in support of Cuba took place outside the National Parliament in Cape Town throughout July and concluded precisely on the occasion of that nation's Day of Rebellion.
