Havana, November 15 (RHC)-- Members of the Alianza Martiana coalition, made up of Cuban emigrants in Miami, condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

During a meeting at the headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in Havana, the 35-member delegation announced its efforts to stop the criminal policies of Donald Trump's government against the Caribbean island.

Andrés Gómez, member of the Alianza Martiana coalition and National Coordinator of the Antonio Maceo Brigade, said that the U.S. blockade is an attempt against the tranquility of the Cuban people.

Held in the context of the celebrations for Havana's 500 years, the meeting addressed the importance of the unity of all Cubans to defend the Homeland, no matter where they are in the world.

In this sense, the President of ICAP, Fernando González Llort, praised the tireless work of the coalition in defense of Cuba’s sovereignty from the United States.

On behalf of the organizations that make up the Alianza Martiana coalition, the José Martí Association presented a recognition to the Cuban Five Heroes.

While in Cuba, the members of the Martiana Alliance will pay tribute to José Martí in the memorial named after the Cuban hero.
