Cuba Praises Relations with Iran

Tehran, May 13 (RHC) – Cuban Ambassador to Iran Vladimir González, said his country's relations with the Islamic Republic are excellent and noted that despite Western sanctions imposed on both nations, their commercial and economic links continue to develop.

In a meeting with reporters at the headquarters of the Iranian Fars News agency, in Tehran, Gonzalez said that recent high level contacts between both countries, speak wonders of the solidity and potential of this relationship.


He added that despite limitations caused by the Western sanctions on Iran and the U.S. blockade imposed on Cuba for over fifty years, "our governments maintain the political will to develop economic, commercial links."

Gonzalez described as pleasant and frank the dialogue with journalists and answered questions about the situation in Cuba and Latin America, and his views about different aspects of life in Iran.
