Havana, June 23 (RHC)--The forecast models of the epidemiological scenario predict a decrease of Covid-19 cases in Cuba, while the health intervention advances with national vaccine candidates of proven efficacy, experts acknowledged on Tuesday.

Professor Pedro Mas, vice-president of the Cuban Society of Hygiene and Epidemiology, assured that the mathematical graphics show the possibility of reducing the spread of the disease while the immunization advances with the Abdala and Soberana 02 projects.

Control will be closely related to the vaccination capacity, acknowledged the specialist in a meeting with President Miguel Diaz-Canel, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, and other representatives of scientific centers.

According to a national television report, the head of state ratified the satisfaction for the research with both candidates and learned about the progress of studies with other vaccine prospects such as Soberana Plus in convalescents.

Regarding the regulation of these studies, the director of the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices, Olga Lidia Jacobo, insisted that it is a rigorous process.

The approval of these candidates must comply with the presentation of a registration dossier with detailed information and then by the inspection we are currently conducting.
