Hanoi, August 13 (RHC)-- Vietnam on Friday evoked the man it considers one of the foreign leaders who made the most significant contributions to the country's independence, Fidel Castro, on the 95th anniversary of the leader of the Cuban Revolution.

In the first square in the world to bear Fidel's name, in the central city of Dong Ha, leaders of Quang Tri province and the Union of Friendship Organizations placed flowers at the foot of the monument to the Commander-in-Chief.

Meanwhile, Cubans living in Hungary, diplomats, and members of solidarity organizations with the island commemorated the 95th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Revolution.

The tribute to the renowned statesman and fighter took place near the bust of José Martí, erected in 1976 in the XVIII district of Budapest. It was attended by representatives of leftist forces and the Venezuelan ambassador here, José Reinaldo Camejo.

Likewise, in London, the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) in the United Kingdom evoked the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

The Revolution, led by Fidel in 1959, is now 62 years old. The Cuban people have achieved world-class advances in health, education, social care, and internationalism, the organization that groups British friends of the Caribbean island.
