Havana, January 24 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel called to defeat the U.S. blockade by taking advantage of the talent that exists on the island.

"It's not just about resisting, it's about doing it creatively," the President wrote.

And he added, "We will face the intensification of the blockade, and we will defeat it with our efforts, using the concept of creative resistance, which means taking advantage of all the talent we have."

In another tweet, Diaz-Canel emphasized that "the debate at the PCC Municipal Assembly in Cienfuegos focused on the consolidation of the socialist state enterprise from the management of science and innovation and ideological-political work in the current context."

The President illustrated how creativity could be a great asset.

He said that in 2021, the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes power plant in Cienfuegos suffered from financial problems and a lack of spare parts. However, it managed to maintain its stability thanks to the science and innovation of its staff.

"Its results were made possible by the creative resistance of its workers and the joint and efficient work of the management under the guidance of the Party,"  the President pointed out.
