Cuban President attends the closing ceremony of Congress of Jurists

Havana, Jun 8 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel participated on Wednesday at the closing ceremony of the Ninth Congress of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba (UNJC), which was held at the Convention Center in Havana.

Díaz-Canel described this meeting as historic and recognized the participants for their leading role, participation, and support in the current social processes of the Caribbean Island.

He highlighted the leading role of law professionals in participating in the country's decisive tasks.

The President highlighted the approach to issues for improving society and the strengthening of socialist democracy.

The UNJC has given fundamental support to the Revolution in the years of substantial transformation in support of the socialist rule of law, said the Cuban President, and thanked this organization for being at the service of the Homeland.

He valued the concern about the need to disseminate legal norms and the prior and subsequent control.

In his address, he emphasized the work with young jurists and law students, which must guarantee the ethical formation of permanent link with the institutions.

He recognized the work of the jurists in the work in the neighborhoods and communities and especially during the consultation process of the Project of the New Family Code.

During the ceremony, institutions and jurists were recognized for their scientific and organizational contributions.

Likewise, the specialists ratified Alexis Ginarte as President of the UNJC.
