Seventh session of Vietnam-Cuba political consultations opened

Hanoi, August 29 (RHC) Cuba and Vietnam held on Monday the VII meeting of Political Consultations, with the presence of the island's First Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver and Ha Kim Ngoc, Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam.

On Sunday, the Cuban deputy foreign minister arrived in Hanol to fulfill the first leg of a tour that will also take him to Cambodia and Laos.

During his stay in Vietnam, Peñalver will hold meetings with the heads of the Foreign Affairs Commissions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Le Hoai Trung, and of the National Assembly (Parliament) Vu Hai Ha.

He will also meet with the Minister of Construction and the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission chairman, Nguyen Thanh Nghi.

Next Wednesday, Peñalver and his delegation will travel to Ho Chi Minh City, where they will carry out a busy work schedule before traveling to Cambodia on September 1.

Relations between Vietnam and Cuba have been characterized by a deep brotherhood forged by Fidel, Raul, and Ho Chi Minh since the difficult years of Vietnam's liberation struggle and later, during the reunification and reconstruction of the Asian country
