Hanoi, Nov 1 (RHC) Communist Party (PCV) Central Committee member Lai Xuan Mon today praised the importance of the collaboration between the Latin American news agency Prensa Latina (PL) and the main Vietnamese media.

They constitute an important information organ, with a long history, underlined the permanent vice president of the VCP Propaganda and Education Commission when receiving Prensa Latina's president, Luis Enrique González Acosta, who ends this Tuesday a working visit to the Asian country.

Xuan Mon assured that every success in the cooperation between the Latin American News Agency and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) is a source of satisfaction, and stressed the importance of expanding the valuable exchange of experience between both media.

Given the complex international situation, it is necessary to join forces to face the increasingly frequent attacks launched from social networks, using the dissemination and amplification of fake news, said the VCP member.

The Party leader said that despite Vietnam's unquestionable economic and social achievements in 35 years of implementing the renewal policy, enemies never cease to slander and spread falsehoods in any sphere, making the information battle vital.

After thanking Xuan Mon for his appreciation of the collaboration between the VNA and PL, Gonzalez Acosta ratified the willingness to continue identifying new areas to strengthen and expand a partnership he considered strategic.

He also explained that his tour of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia was aimed at strengthening cooperation with the news agencies of those countries, as well as with other important media such as the Nhan Dan (People) newspaper whose editor-in-chief, Le Quoc Minh, held a meeting the day before.

During the lively dialogue, both executives agreed on the need to further promote cooperation and share experiences in the field of digital transformation, an area in which the Vietnamese newspaper has made significant progress in the last two years.

Nhan Dan, Quoc Minh said, is sharing his knowledge in this field with the system integrated by the 63 VCP newspapers throughout the country and is willing to collaborate with the Cuban media, including Prensa Latina. (Source: PL)
