Havana, Nov 8 (RHC) The president of the Vietnamese Parliament, Vuong Dinh Hue, highlighted Tuesday Cuba's recent victory at the United Nations General Assembly, with the approval of its resolution against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

 

Receiving a delegation of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) of Cuba, which is in Hanoi on a working visit, the Vietnamese high-ranking official remarked on his country's resolute support to the island in its struggle to put an end to the unilateral policy.

 

According to Prensa Latina news agency, Cuban Legislative Secretary Homero Acosta agreed with Dinh Hue on the importance of preserving and disseminating among the new generations the example and legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Vietnam's independence hero, Ho Chi Minh.

 

They also highlighted the commemoration, in September 2023, of the 50th anniversary of the visit of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro to the Indochinese nation, in the middle of the war.

 

The Chairman of the Vietnamese Parliament expressed his desire to visit Cuba and continue working exchanges.

 

He also sent greetings to Army General Raul Castro, President Miguel Diaz-Canel, and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, whose recent visit he considered of utmost importance to strengthen brotherly ties.

 

The source informs that before the dialogue with Dinh Hue, the Cuban representative held official talks with the secretary general and head of the Office of the Vietnamese legislative body, Bui Van.

 

Acosta, who heads the delegation of the Antillean country, referred to the new legal system after the entry into force, in 2019, of a new Constitution of the Republic and with the approval this year of a new Family Code.

 

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Cuban parliamentarians also toured the Temple of Literature, a cultural and historical relic considered the most typical and important of Hanoi.

 

They also visited the Vietnam Military History Museum, which exhibits more than 160,000 images and objects on the country's military history and the heroic spirit of the people.

 

This Wednesday, the Cuban parliamentary delegation will attend part of the debates of the fourth session of the 15th Legislature of Vietnam, on Thursday they will travel to the provinces of Da Nang and Can Tho, to conclude their agenda on Saturday in Ho Chi Minh City. (Source: ACN)
