Cuban President expresses trust in new diplomats

Havana, Dec 19 (RHC) The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, expressed today the conviction that the new heads of mission abroad will be very brave fighters, active and dignified in the trenches and battles they will assume.

Leading the swearing-in ceremony of these diplomats appointed to 27 countries in the five continents, the Cuban leader ratified the confidence placed in them to face strategic tasks and defend the island in such complex and difficult times.

Together with members of the Political Bureau Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power; the prime minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Díaz-Canel greeted the heads of mission and their families, after signing the Code of Ethics, in which they commit themselves to be faithful to Fidel, Raúl, the Homeland, and the Revolution.

On behalf of the group, Yanet Stable Cárdenas stressed that they will carry out the tasks ahead of them with dignity and loyalty to the revolutionary principles.

Rodriguez Parrilla told them that among their responsibilities, they will have to confront the aggressions of imperialism against our country, specifically the battle against the blockade, and its permanent denunciation, as well as to creatively publicize its destructive impact.

He also pointed out as essential priorities the promotion of trade, foreign investments, cooperation, and tourism. (Source: ACN)
