Cuba, Honduras to reach cooperation agreement in education

Havana, Dec 27 (RHC) Honduran Education Minister Daniel Esponda and Cuban Deputy Education Minister Eugenio Gonzalez on Tuesday reached a collaboration agreement in education.

 

The agreement involves 10 Cuban professors to advice upon Honduras’s educational system re-foundation and also to aid President Xiomara Castro’s interest in updating and providing new dynamic to children education.

This agreement was also signed by Anarella Velez and Ricardo Salgado, Culture and Strategic Planning Ministers, respectively. The signing ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister Eduardo Enrique Reina; the vice-president of the National Congress, Edgardo Casañas, among other Honduran government officials, as well as the Cuban ambassador Juan Roberto Loforte.

 

In a recent interview with Prensa Latina, Honduran Education Minister Daniel Esponda described the Cuban method ¨Yes I Can¨ as the best in the world, while assuring that with the Cuban professors´ assistance they will be able to eradicate illiteracy by the end of President Xiomara Castro’s government.
