Cuban authorities mourn the passing of Chomy Miyar

Havana, Jan 20 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel sent Friday condolences to the family, friends, and comrades of Dr. José Miguel Miyar Barruecos (Chomy), following his recent death.

 

"It hurts the death of José M. Miyar Barruecos, Chomy, a fundamental collaborator of Fidel in the development of Sciences in Cuba," the president wrote on his Twitter account.

 

Díaz-Canel described the former combatant of the underground struggle and the Rebel Army as a loyal, modest, and consecrated man.

 

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz also regretted the death of Chomy, a Cuban revolutionary, faithful follower of the ideas of the historic leader of the Revolution, who devoted his life to Cuba.

 

In the same social network, Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the CC-PCC highlighted Miyar Barruecos' trajectory as a thorough revolutionary, who knew how to win the affection of the people, loyal to Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, and the Party.

 

In the message, the president of the Assembly, Esteban Lazo Hernández expressed his condolences to Miyar Barruecos' family, friends, and relatives, Lazo described him as was faithful follower and executor of the ideas of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016).
