Dominican Republic and Cuba strengthen ties in the field of teacher training

Santo Domingo, January 27 (RHC) The University of the Caribbean of the Dominican Republic (Unicaribe) and the Ministry of Education of Cuba (MES), recently signed a higher technical assistance agreement, in which Cuba will provide the professional services of university teachers to this center.

According to the head of the Export Department of the MES, Andrés Erasmo Ares, this agreement opened a new path of collaboration for the benefit of both nations.

For his part, the rector of Unicaribe, José Alejandro Aybar, reiterated the commitment to collaboration with the island and urged both institutions to continue with exchanges that strengthen the figure of the student within the universities.

At this moment, what has been signed is becoming a reality, it was learned that a group of Cuban professors is getting ready to fulfill what has been agreed for this year and in a matter of weeks they will make the cooperation project a reality.

During 2023 the university will have several doctors from the neighboring country in the categories of Full and Assistant Professor in different branches, such as Hotel Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Accounting, Cybertechnology Engineering, Software Engineering, Marketing, General and Organizational Psychology, and International Relations.

The presence of these academics will contribute to the substantial changes they are undergoing in terms of the professional profile required in the current scenario, both in terms of academic competencies and in terms of values and ethics. (Source: PL)
