Cuban government reiterates its condolences for earthquake victims in Turkey

Havana, Feb 8 (RHC) On Wednesday, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel went to the Turkish embassy in Havana, where he signed the book of condolences opened there on the occasion of the devastating earthquake that hit that nation last Monday.

 

After the earthquake, which according to the most recent data from international media caused some 12 thousand deaths, around 50 thousand injured and enormous material damage in Turkey and Syria, President Diaz-Canel and other Cuban government authorities have expressed their sorrow for what happened and the island's willingness to assist both nations.

 

This earthquake, followed by countless aftershocks, is considered by international specialists as the deadliest of the last decades (Source: Prensa Latina).
