Havana, Feb 28 (RHC) The 62nd National Oral Polio Vaccination Campaign started simultaneously across Cuba and will be run until April to keep the country free of cases of this infectious-contagious disease.

According to statistics published by the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), the last polio case in Cuba was recorded in 1962.

The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) announced that all children from one month to two years, 11 months, and 29 days of age would be vaccinated.

The first stage is scheduled from Monday to Saturday, March 4, and those infants who could not be vaccinated will take the recovery dose from March 6 to 11.

Meanwhile, the second phase will be from Monday, April 24, to Saturday, April 29, coinciding with Vaccination Week in the Americas.

The recovery dose for those who could not be immunized would be on Tuesday, May 2, to Saturday, May 6. (Source: PL)
