Russian Duma receives Cuban delegation

Moscow, March 10 (RHC) A delegation from Cuban Public Health Ministry (MINSAP), headed by Deputy Minister Tania Cruz was received at the headquarters of the Russian State Duma, Cuban Embassy reported on Thursday.

 

State Duma Health Committee President Dimitri Kubezov met with Cruz, who is also Head of the Health and Biotechnology Working Group in the Cuba-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Commercial, and Scientific-Technical Collaboration.

 

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the state and prospects for cooperation in health care and the biopharmaceutical industry, the joint work of regulatory agencies, and universities of medical sciences, as well as the development of clinical trials.

 

They also evaluated the possibilities of including leading drugs from Cuban biotechnology in treatment protocols for Russians and the strengthening of scientific exchange in specialties such as oncology, endocrinology, genetics, gynecology, and neonatology.

 

Before Russia, Cruz, and her delegation visited Belarus, where they held meetings in the Senate and the Academy of Sciences, and talked with senior public healthcare officials and executives of pharmaceutical companies. (Source: Prensa Latina)
