Cuban Art Factory will connect Portuguese culture with Cuba

Havana, April 7 (RHC)-- With the announcement of the premiere of the video art Saudade, the Fabrica de Arte Cubano connects one of the most outstanding concepts in Portuguese culture with the creative scene of the Caribbean island.

Scheduled for next April 28, the cultural space will promote an approach to a singular Cuban artistic reinterpretation of this concept, associated with "nostalgia for someone absent or something unfulfilled, the suspended expectation saudade/soidad", the presentation of the initiative points out.

Likewise, the document indicates that the proposal is the result of the "show conceived and recorded during the pandemic, in an experimental inter-art work that crosses dance, music and other artistic formats."

The experimental work that puts two cultures separated by the ocean into dialogue: Cuba and Portugal, is directed by Sandra Ramy, Inti Herrera, and the founders of the iconic Fábrica -- Sandra Lopes and X Alfonso -- while also featuring origina music by Pepe Gavilondo.

The production, carried out with the support of the Portuguese Embassy in Cuba and the Camões Institute, shows "the intimate relationship that each one maintains with the sea, has been the link. This sea has made us look at each other."

In the same way, it alludes to "the relationship with the distant, the unattainable and with the earth, which has returned us to a space of understanding of the human", outlines the invitation to enjoy this work, product of the work of the audiovisual production company FaceFilms.
